You do not need to own a trailer
Renting a trailer, finding a truck that can pull it, buying ramps, and then doing the loading yourself usually costs more than the haul and takes most of a Saturday. A flatbed already has a deck that tilts and a winch, which is the entire job.
Wimberley Towing moves equipment on the same trucks we tow with, so a mower going to the shop is a normal call rather than a special favour.
What fits on the deck
- ATVs and UTVs: side by sides, quads, and the ranch workhorses that never see a road.
- Golf carts: common out here, and awkward to move any other way.
- Zero turn and riding mowers: usually going to a shop, usually because they will not start, which also means they will not drive up a ramp.
- Compact and sub-compact tractors: within deck weight, and often with an implement still attached. Tell dispatch if it is.
- Skid steers and small attachments: depending on weight. Call and we will tell you honestly if it is over.
What decides whether it fits
Weight, width, and whether it rolls. A non-runner gets winched onto the deck, which is fine, but it changes the loading and it is worth mentioning when you call (512) 375-1215. Anything wider than the deck or over its rating needs a different trailer, and we would rather tell you that on the phone than in your driveway.
Where these calls come from
Ranch and acreage properties around Dripping Springs and out toward Canyon Lake generate most of this work, along with the golf and lake communities. It is all part of the same towing and roadside services operation.
